and friends

The last few days have been pretty weird for me. The recent news from Bagdad has brought my mind to a state of sadness. (When I say mind, I also mean my Soul as well) My deepest sympathy goes out to the Berg family in West Chester, Pa. I hope I will never experience the pain and depression that the Berg family is currently facing.
Humanity has no place for the likes of al Qaeda and men such as Osama bin Laden and Abu Musab Zarqawi. They have declared war against humanity, and humanity must declare war on them.

Tonight I had the priveledge to listen to Robert Bradley's Black Water Surpirse play live at Sticky Fingers . I have always loved their music. The front man for the band is Robert Bradley, an elderly man who is completely blind and used to be a street musician in Detroit. His voice, along with the musical accompanyment, reaches deep into my mind where the sadness and disgust of the current world issues lie and replaces it with happiness. Thank you Robert Bradley's Black Water Surprise for taking me away from reality for a few moments and letting me experience bliss. I had the privelidge to meet him after the show, very nice man who is humble and appriciative of the gifts in which he inherits. I know I am tip-toeing on the border of hippieville, but Music can really heal the mind. It's like an illegal drug that only few people know about. For a brief moment tonight I felt like the world was a great place to be.

That is powerful stuff Brady. I appreciate you bearing your soul with all of us. Music is the artform that speaks the deepest to me. I mean, I always have a superficail response to the visual (photos, etc.) but music has the ability to take up residence in you heart.

Good thoughts Brady. I understand the sadness about whats going on...when a guy from work told me about the Berg guy it just plagued my mind for the rest of the day. And to think it will probably just get worse ya know...But you know we have a faithful GOD.
I also understand the power of music. It can take you away!

Re: Thank You Robert Bradley
Thank Robert bradley indeed! He will bless you with his appearance and woo you with his music. Music has to be one of, if not the greatest release in the world. On a different note Mr. Berg was a dreamer and someone who believed in freedom. He was a young man who had dreams of happiness, prosperity, and humanity. The men who slaughterd him are out to conform the world to believe (religiously and politicaly) as they do, if anyone does'nt conform they should be killed. I think that any hippie would agree the people who killed Berg do not care about the rights and freedom we so ignorantly take for granted in America.

Berg
Those Extreme Islamist Fascist Pigs are only hatemongerers. There sadistic decapitation of Nic Berg was not retaliation for the leaked pictures of our soldiers abusing Iraqi terrorist soldiers, but simply a way to feed that propagandistic garbage that the Left in our own country keeps purporting. For over a week now we've had story after story concerning the abuse/mistreatment of these detainees by 7 out of thousands of our boys, yet there's been no outrage over Berg, and the previous folks who have been maimed, dismembered, and paraded through the streets of the Middle East. Why? Because the Left doesn't care about the soldiers, the soldiers' families, or even America. They're blinded by their lust for power to a point that they're helping the enemy without realizing it. To be sure, for what those 7 unsupervised "soldiers" did, they should be brought to swift justice; however, it's hardly equal to videotaped Decapitations, or crowds of people rejoicing over dismembered, burned American bodies. I believe everyone's forgotten 9/11. The poor parents of Berg are so disillusioned that the blame their son's death on the Commander-in-Chief, and Rummy. I hurt, along with you Brady, for the family of Mr. Berg. God help our nation.

Re: Thank You Robert Bradley
These guys deserve no better than they gave Nic Berg. But as Christians and/or Americans we have to remember that in order to beat them we have to treat them way...and I mean way, better than they deserve. These guys deserve punishment but more than that they need salvation. May God have mercy on them because not many others will.

Re: Thank You Robert Bradley
After reading your entry again, I realized that the whole point of it isn't the negative world issues, but the healing power of music. Yeah, it angers each of us what they did to that poor guy. But then the anger fades and, if we're not careful, becomes hate. Now that the anger has faded I can see a little more clearly. I'm glad that you've found such a healthy outlet for your negative feelings. It is true that you can replace anger with happiness through music, maybe someday we can "teach the world to sing...in perfect harmony." (I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke, 1971)
