If you loved Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, or This is Spinal Tap, then you will love the new show The Office on NBC. It's already 6 episodes into the season, but you can get all those episodes over at TvTorrents (if you're crafty enough). Here's a soundboard for one of the main characters that plays regional manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell).

Re: The Office

If you haven't already seen it you've got to run, not walk, to go rent the BBC version of the office.

don't get me wrong - both versions are great but the english one is a bit wittier and it's a better depiction of the dull and dreary work environment that is key to the show.

While you're renting the BBC version make sure you also pick up a copy of the american movie "Office Space" - that is if you haven't already seen it.

Re: The Office

Office Space is a classic, we use lines from it every day at the office to get us through the day...

Re: The Office

The BBC version is by FAR better than the drivel that aired on NBC. The American versions of British shows are never good. Coupling is another show that was 'Americanized' and it sucked balls. The BBC version rocked though.

It's so sad that Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant approved that NBC crap.

Steve Carrel rules though. Not. His. Fault.

Also, find some episodes of Extras online somewhere. It's Gervais'/Merchant's new show. Good times.

Re: The Office

The episode on "Diversity" is one of the funniest TV shows I have ever seen.

The Daily Show is the new SNL of comic proving grounds.

Re: The Office

We lived in Ireland the year the BBC version of The Office came out. My husband had to get up to go to work at 5 am , and the show didn't come on until 10:00pm. My teen boys and I would laugh so hard that we'd get the speech about how early my husband had to go to work and could we PLEASE keep the noise down. So, we started sitting really close to the TV so we could turn the volume down (master bedroom above the living room) and try to laugh quietly. Ha! Completely impossible. We were absolutely hysterical every single episode. Yes, the American version is good, although NO ONE can replace Garreth. One cannot even look at his face without laughing! It brings tears to my eyes when I remember his monologues. Watch both versions ,for sure...but you POSITIVELY MUST see the BBC version. I agree with above reviewer who says the BBC version is better at depicting just how dull and dreary the work place is. WATCH THESE SHOWS!!

Re: The Office

As a brit in the US I have watched both. I enjoy both and think the US one is actually pretty damn good. Its one of the funniest things on US tv. The writing is good, and since there are more shows of the American on they have had to do some pretty creative writing.
