AWS Instacam

AWS is the company that powers WeatherBug, the desktop client that provides you with live local weather and also spams you a little. I used to despise this little program (for it's ads/pop-ups) until l looked into their company. We did some work with them this year and really got to know about all the cool things they do at AWS. They maintain a network of over 2000 weather stations and cameras across the U.S. Their weather stations are moslty setup at public schools where students maintain the station as an educational tool. This is the network that powers WeatherBug. They also have an interactive web application called MesoStreamer for select clients that gives them full access to their live WeatherNet in a GIS environment. Every time we have a chemical emergency, we utilize some of tools above to get an idea of what the weather is like at ground zero. They play an active role in Homeland Security response as well. You can read about it here. It's also fun to browse the InstaCams. This image is from Hoffman-Boston Elementary School in Arlington, VA.

Anyone have comments on Web Phones

Hey Brady..
I was looking into getting a web based phone service bc my cell phone service alone is not doing the trick. Thought I would see if anyone has had a personal experience with internet phones or could give me some feedback on what to look for in a service. Thanks
btw are we still on to meet up?
